Homebuilder celebrates health and safety award

A local homebuilder is celebrating after winning its third gold honour in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

Keepmoat homes were recognised in 2008 and 2010 for their development of a uniform safety culture throughout the company, including regular site safety inspections and safety audits, too box talks for site personnel and a reward scheme for new safety innovations.

Peter Hindley, managing director of Keepmoat Homes is proud of the recognition the company has received for their work to ensure the safety of both staff and subcontractors is upheld.

He commented: “Developing a strong and positive safety culture which people take seriously is essential in this industry.

“We have worked hard to make sure that safety is a value embedded in the company.:

When considering construction companies for the awards, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents consider the company’s accident records, as well as the entrants’ health and safety mechanisms.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager said“ “RoSPA firmly believes that organisations that have demonstrated their commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention deserve recognition.

“Keepmoat homes has shown that it is committed to striving for such continuous improvement and we are delighted to honour it through the presentation of an award.”
