Trading Room Launch Event

Newcastle Business School was delighted to welcome guests to the official launch of our Trading Room, supported by Bloomberg, at the launch event on Thursday 24th May.

The VIP event launched Newcastle Business Schools Trading Room, which provides a hub for Bloomberg’s cutting-edge financial system, which is used globally by top professional financiers throughout the world and is now available to our Students, Alumni and Corporate Clients.

The celebratory event was opened by guest of honor, James Ramsbotham, Chief Executive at the North East Chamber of Commerce who commented “It was a real pleasure to open such a unique and prestige centre; what Newcastle Business School have achieved is something very special and I felt very honoured to play a small part in this”.

He continued “It’s great to see the School giving ‘real-life’ business skills to undergraduates so that they can be fully ‘work-ready’ upon graduation and also to see that this centre is open to your Alumni and Corporate Clients for training; it really is impressive to see these skills going back into the regional economy”.

Professor Jackie Harvey, Associate Dean Research and Innovation (Acting) commented: “It was fantastic evening and great to see so many of our Alumni, corporate clients and staff networking. We’re extremely proud of our Trading Room and the fact that we’re one of only a small number of business schools within the UK to integrate real-time financial management information into our learning, teaching and research”.

The photos from the event can be found on the Newcastle Business School Facebook page and really do show what a fantastic, enjoyable evening was had by all.
