Amazing Line-up at ABCurry Club 13th September
The hugely popular ABCurry Club returns on Thursday 13th September 2012 at 5:30pm. Supported by HM Residential and AM Associates UK the event is being kindly hosted by The Excelsior Academy – Denton Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15 6AF.
Our next event is even more exciting as we focus on Anti-Social Behaviour - The Good, The Bad and The ABC. We will hear from confirmed keynote speakers including Police and Crime Commissioner candidate Phil Butler, Your Homes Newcastle’s John Lee and Nick Dodgson, ABC’s board member and former Police Area Commander Allan Curry, all joined by members of Excelsior staff and pupils. We will also be entertained by some splendid students showcasing their performing arts.
This is a unique opportunity to engage with some of the most prominent and influential people in the North East. All joined by members of the Asian and wider business community, with one common vision – to Connect, Support and Promote one another.
ABCurry Club is an informal yet informative social networking event, which is always oversubscribed. Previous Curry Clubs have heard from the likes of Hari Shukla ABC Patron, Roy Stanley Chair of BENE and Tanfield Group, Paul Callaghan Chair of ONE, Catherine McKinnell MP, Dave Anderson MP, Chi Onwurah MP, Councillors Nick Forbes and David Faulkner, Alastair MacColl – Chief Executive of Business and Enterprise Group, including prominent community and business leaders. We have worked with various organisations to make a truly positive economic impact, and these events help us to celebrate and share these innovative initiatives.
The Excelsior Academy’s creative catering team will be delighting you with a delicious Indian finger buffet. The food prepared and served in house is a must try, and will leave you questioning how school meals have progressed to such a la carte standard, especially in serving authentic mouth-watering Punjabi food.
As usual tickets are priced at only £10 with a proportion going to Charlie Bear for Cancer Care Charity. We will be hearing from the Charlie Bear team on the evening about their exciting Cyber Surgery Appeal which ABC is proud to be supporting.

Details of our guest speakers:
Phil Butler served as a police officer for 30 years in Northumbria Police specialising in fraud, corruption and organised crime. He is the Conservative Candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner in the election on 15 November. Phil is honoured and privileged to speak at the September ABCurry Club on the subject of anti-social behaviour. He would like to talk with you about young people and how we as members of ABC can help steer them away from a life of crime. Let’s get kids off the streets, stop them drinking, taking drugs and get them involved in some healthy exercise and meaningful activities. He wants you to help him point them in the right direction and then let them get on with it and organise themselves. That’s why if Phil is elected he will appoint a ‘Young Person’s Police and Crime Commissioner’ to help him in this work. He looks forward to seeing you all on the night and finding out your views?
