Approach PR wins double award

Approach PR has scored a double success at the Golden Hedgehog PR industry awards.

The Ilkley-based firm was recognised for creating the Healthcare/Pharma Campaign of the Year for West Yorkshire-based Acorn Stairlifts and the Low Budget Campaign of the Year for its part in saving the 2012 Ilkley Carnival.

The awards, held at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, pitched the highest achieving PR agencies and in-house teams from the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland against each other. Approach PR fought off the likes of the University of Leeds and The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland to scoop the awards.

Approach MD Suzanne Johns, who also claimed the title of Woman of the Year at Bradford’s Inspirational Women Awards this month, said: “The two awards we received could not have been more suited to us.

“Not only do they reward our specialism in the healthcare sector but they reiterate our ability to meet the demand for well thought out, creative campaigns with restricted budgets – something which is more important today that it has ever been before.

“Moving into larger offices last year, growing the team by two and re-launching Approachability, our PR training arm, has kept the team extremely busy but these awards show that we are committed in everything that we do for our clients.”

The Approachability training courses and workshops are designed to help people get the most out of their business and offer insight for firms looking to develop their own PR skills.
