London jobs search entrepreneurs eye overseas markets

London-based job search engine, Adzuna has announced it will launch in Brazil, South Africa, Australia and Canada.

The venture-back platform was co-founded by former Gumtree MD, Doug Monro, and head of marketing at Gumtree, Andrew Hunter, and was launched in April 2011.

The site now attracts over 1.5m monthly visitors, and has subsequently built the “Number 10 Dashboard,” an app that provides the Prime Minister with daily updates on jobs, salaries and house prices.

In early 2013, Monro and Hunter acquired social classifieds site Oodle UK, and have continued to innovate around their social job hunting tools, real time labour market data and search.

Andrew Hunter said: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of these new sites and we’re excited to build on our UK success.

“We believe jobseekers in these countries are underserved by the tools currently available in the market. Our aim is to arm job seekers around the world with all the information they need to find their perfect job.”

Adzuna are also planning to offer apps similar to the Number 10 Dashboard to leaders in these new markets.
