Beaumont Legal appointed to negotiate Poundworld growth plans
Wakefield-based law firm, Beaumont Legal, has been instructed to negotiate Poundworld’s new store openings for the remainder of 2013.
The single-priced retailer has ambitious growth plans for at least another 50 store openings across the UK planned for the year ahead. Beaumont Legal will be responsible for negotiating and completing the new store leases.
Senior partner and head of commercial at Beaumont Legal, Roy Cusworth, said: “We are pleased to have this significant opportunity to deal with these new stores.
“Poundworld has achieved remarkable growth making it one of the UK’s leading discount retailers.
“Against a very challenging environment on the high street, which has seen some big names disappear, it is very encouraging to see Poundworld extending its floor space with so many new stores creating hundreds of new jobs and boosting the retail economy.”
Launched in 2004, Poundworld currently employs more than 5,100 people in its 300 stores. The retailer has plans to open a further 200 stores in the next five years.
Poundworld’s operations director, Mark Ward, said: “In order for any business to be successful you need to have trusted and committed service providers around you.
“We have worked with Beaumont Legal in the past and have always been impressed by the personal, professional and efficient service we have received, so we didn’t need to think twice about instructing them to help with our ambitious growth plans.”
