Businesses invited to attend free innovation workshop
Berkshire businesses are invited to attend a free workshop offering them expert advice on how to innovate and generate the creative ideas that will transform their business.
The half day workshop is being held in Slough on 23 May. Businesses attending will be given advice on how to think creatively and innovate, and how to develop their teams to effectively harness these skills. They will also be given advice on protecting their ideas, funding grants, the financial benefits of intellectual property and business support available.
The ‘Creative Thinking & Innovation workshop’ is being run by experts from specialist creative agency Bang Creations International, professional services firm Oury Clark and the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS).
Stefan Knox, director at Bang, explains: “Innovation is key for both fast-growing businesses and established market leaders and is the secret to international competitiveness. It all starts with a good idea, so you need to have as many good ideas as possible, and more importantly have a structure in place to pick the best and take them forward.”
He added: “In this workshop we will help firms begin to generate those good ideas that could transform their business. We will also advise attendees on how these ideas can be taken forward, helping them to progress their ideas much faster and in their strongest possible form, reducing both time and risk.”
Huw Williams from Oury Clark said: “Whilst market dominance is the initial goal for any product that you bring to market, the reality of the financials can be just one of the limiting factors that bring this ambition in check. Realism in your forecasts and minimising your business risk is key to attracting the attention of finance providers, along with demonstrating that you understand the legal framework by which you will be governed and the taxation policy.”
Bang Creations works with businesses and entrepreneurs based across the UK on all aspects of innovation, from product design and development through to commercialisation, branding and manufacture.
At the workshop, Bang will focus on helping businesses to break barriers to creativity and develop a range of techniques and skills to generate innovative solutions. Representatives from Oury Clark will then help businesses to better understand how to capitalise on these ideas, through intellectual property management, focused accounting techniques, patent box and research and development tax credits.
The ‘Creative Thinking & Innovation workshop’ is being held on Thursday 23 May at Oury Clark, Herschel House, 58 Herschel Street, Slough from 9-13.30. To attend please visit Eventbrite http://bit.ly/10oNhqn. Places are limited.
