Hill Dickinson's Sheffield office expands

The Sheffield office of law firm Hill Dickinson expands with the appointment of two solicitors within its Employment and Pensions team.

With over 15 years’ experience in pensions, Paula Warnock has been promoted to Associate, and will act on behalf of clients within the Manchester and Sheffield offices of Hill Dickinson.

An Associate of Pensions Management Institute, Paula has a wealth of knowledge in the area. Her recent cases include advising on member disputes, winding up solvent and insolvent schemes and corporate transactions.

Joining Hill Dickinson as a Trainee Solicitor in 2011, Clare Edwards qualified in September and has been appointed as an Assistant Solicitor and will work under Angela Brumpton for a number of national and international companies in areas including retail, sport, social housing and education.

In September, Employment and Pensions was one of four practice areas to achieve a new ranking in the sector’s most prestigious annual survey, Legal 500 with Angela Brumpton described as having an ‘excellent level of knowledge and is building up the practice with an emphasis on the social housing and sports sectors’. In total, the Sheffield office saw 10 practice areas ranked in the survey, an increase of three on the previous year.

Alastair Reid, Head of Sheffield, Hill Dickinson said: “The appointment of Paula and Clare to Employment and Pensions is a great boost to the team, and will undoubtedly strengthen our experience and offer to existing and new clients.”

“We were all greatly encouraged by Sheffield’s strong performance in this year’s Legal 500, which is testament to the office’s commitment to providing the very best expertise and service across all sectors.”

The appointments follow the announcement in September that Alastair Reid has become Head of Hill Dickinson’s Sheffield offices. A well-known figure within the Yorkshire business community, Alastair’s appointment sees the frim strengthen its ties with key regional sectors.
