Students studying on Foundation Learning courses at TyneMet College have been extremely entrepreneurial this month organising Christmas Fairs, Auctions, Coffee Mornings and Raffles.

The Personal Development Opportunities students are in their second year of study at the College. At their Christmas Craft Fair, they sold a range of craft items which they had made, as well as holding a raffle, tombola and other competitions. The event was extremely well supported and in total they raised £317.96, which is being donated jointly to the North East Autism Society and Down’s Syndrome North East.
Following on from the Fair the students managed to sell the remaining items to boost their total to an amazing £340.
Students studying on the Basic Skills for Life course held a Coffee Morning and Raffle, family and friends of the students came to College and in total they successfully raised a fantastic amount of £227.95 for the charity Coping with Cancer.
