Apadmi bolsters leadership team with head of design and UX
Apadmi, one of the UK’s leading app developers, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of a new Head of Design and UX (User Experience).
Marcus Duffy will be heading up the design team at the Manchester firm, where he will be responsible for leading on all stages of the user experience and interface design, from the initial research to the execution, ensuring the company’s vision and goals are achieved.
Prior to his role at Apadmi, Marcus had worked for global advertising giant TBWA for almost a decade, most recently heading up the digital department of its Manchester office, producing work for companies like Imperial Leather, EA Games, ghd and Nissan.
Since deciding to leave the advertising world in 2010, Marcus became a freelance UX Design Consultant, where he consulted for companies such as AstraZeneca and The Wine Society. During this time, he also co-founded a small Manchester-based digital agency called Pivotal.
Commenting on his appointment, Marcus Duffy said: “Apadmi’s strong technical heritage has led naturally to a UX-led approach to mobile app design, where the design behind the visuals is just as important as the visual designs themselves. Testing our ideas with real users and refining them, gives both us and the client confidence in our approach to a problem, leads to a smoother process and ultimately a better product.
“As Head of Design and UX, I aim to build on the great work that Apadmi has already achieved over the last six years, and help to create some great mobile experiences that people will find a joy to use.”
Nick Black, co-founder and director at Apadmi, said: “We are delighted to have Marcus on board. He has displayed an incredibly impressive level of experience and expertise and will be a great asset to our team. We look forward to seeing how he can help develop and grow our already fantastic offering.”
