North East entrepreneur secures training contract with Northumberland County Council

North East entrepreneur, Kerry Sarah Quinn, has secured a training contract with Northumberland County Council.

The contract will see Kerry’s digital marketing consultancy, KSQ Consulting, offer training and advice to SMEs and startups across Northumberland.

The deal is part of a recruitment programme led by Arch Digital, a private sector arms-length development company established by the council with a clear focus designed to bring new, more enterprising and business-like approach to development and regeneration in the County.

Arch activities include responsibility for Inward Investment, Strategic Account Management and the commissioning of a range of other business support initiatives and activities including enterprise support for business start-ups and growing businesses.

Kerry Sarah Quinn, an associate member of the IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs), who previously worked in the corporate world for over 15 years’, said: “The time for SMEs to adapt to new ways of thinking and embrace technology to transform their business strategy with new digital marketing tools is now. It’s imperative to sustainable growth in the forever changing digital landscape.”

iNorthumberland, the business support arm of the programme, is designed to help SMEs in the region use digital technology to grow their business online.

The support is free and consists of digital support from a business advisor as well as high quality online training in a variety of subjects.

Eligible businesses can also access further training via 3 hour master classes. On completion of 12 hours business support they can apply for their business to upgrade to Superfast Broadband free for one year.

Kerry continued: “Digital marketing allows for a level playing field to rival big players in adjoining counties and overseas which will help promote enterprise and support business growth - in turn aid with Arch Digital’s mission to attract private sector investment in business and property.

“Digital marketing also helps to build better customer engagement and loyalty allowing SMEs to sell more, save more and improve return on investment.”
