Fast-growing creative firm vying for prestigious awards
Unwritten, one of the North East’s fastest growing design consultancies, has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards, only a year after it launched.
The Tyneside firm, launched in 2014 by friends and colleagues Amy Jackson and Lisa Eaton, has been shortlisted for the Best New Business Award, as well as the Best Creative Business Award, in the 2015 North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (WIN) Awards.
Unwritten, based at Hoults Yard, Newcastle, employs seven people and works with clients including Newcastle International Airport, NHS, Akzonobel, NewcastleGateshead Initiative, Tyne & Wear Museums, and Seven Stories.
Amy and Lisa established the business having previously worked together at other creative agencies. Unwritten specialises in the creation of design, with a focus on beautiful execution and delivering commercial returns.
Following a rigorous ongoing judging process, the final winner of the awards will be announced at the 2015 North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (WIN) Awards, at the new Crowne Plaza Hotel, Newcastle, on 13 November 2015.
Amy said: “Unwritten saw excellent growth in its first year. We are a business that uses design, both in print and online, to the help other businesses increase profits and improve customer experiences. To be up for two awards that identify with our aims and efforts is fantastic; we’re feeling pretty proud right now.”
Lisa added: “Building a successful and credible design agency that helps other businesses thrive is something that Amy and I have wanted to do for years. It is great we’ve been able to do this together whilst building a strong, growing team around us. These shortlistings are fantastic recognition of what we have achieved in little more than a year since launching Unwritten.”

Notes to editors: Unwritten Creative is a high-growth creative agency, based in North East England. We specialise in the creation of commercial design that has a very specific focus - to improve bottom lines and help businesses thrive. We champion design that is beautifully executed, relevant to its intended buyer and built around a set of clearly defined objectives. These three traits are present in every design that leaves our studio, be it a brand, web, print or exhibition project. It is also these three qualities that allow us to measure the value of the design we produce; ensuring our clients’ decision to work with us is a commercially effective business investment.
