The Bridges gears up for Black Friday
RETAILERS at one of the North East’s leading shopping centres are getting behind the busiest day of the year.
November 27 – known as Black Friday – is the day when retailers offer a whole host of bargains in the run up to Christmas.
And Sunderland’s the Bridges is promising it will be one of the best seasonal shopping days ever, with scores of stores not only offering fantastic deals but the majority of them staying open until 7pm and some until as late as 10pm.
The bargains up for grabs on Black Friday are just some of the incentives for shoppers available at the Bridges this festive season, which is also running its gift card giveaway for the second year.
Anyone who spends more than £100 at a late night shopping evening will be able to pick up a £10 gift voucher.
The shopping centre has also extended its opening hours in the run-up to Christmas, and will be open until 8pm throughout the week from December 7 up until December 23.
During this time shoppers will be able to park for free in the Bridges’ car parks from 5.30pm until 9pm, as an added incentive to come into the city centre.
“Black Friday is growing in popularity every year and we know that our retailers are pulling out all of the stops to offer some irresistible bargains,” said Andy Bradley, Centre Director.
“It’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to come and enjoy what the Bridges has to offer – especially as we’ll have some exciting new retailers in the centre by then.”
Santa’s grotto, at Central Square in the Bridges, will also be open from November 12 to give children the chance to meet Santa.
Entry into Santa’s grotto is £1.50, with 50p from every entry fee going to Rotary SR1, a group which works together on projects to make a difference and give back to the local community.
