STACK Just Got Cooler
A collaboration between STACK Newcastle and Lonewolf Spirits brings Newcastle its first ever ice bar.
The container park, located on Newcastle’s Pilgrim Street, is setting up the city’s first sub-zero Ice Bar, replacing the much-loved Hadrian’s Tipi for the remainder of the winter months.
Sponsored by Lonewolf Spirits, the aptly named Lonewolf Ice Bar will bring an experience like no other and take the visitors into the spring months in style. Guests will be greeted to the secluded bar with warm ponchos to wear in the sub-zero container whilst enjoying their alcoholic or non-alcohol shot, presented in a real ice glass.
Guests are welcome to spend up to 20 minutes in the bar, which will be decorated with ice sculptures, sculpted by the company that created the Game Of Thrones Ice Throne for HBO, Glacial Art.
Mat Foster, Director of Gacial Art said; “The Lonewolf Ice Bar in STACK, Newcastle will be the biggest project we have worked on in 12 years. It’s an exciting exhibition of life-sized ice sculptures which will be suspended at minus five degrees for the next three months. I can’t wait for the people of the north to enjoy this exhibition as much as we have enjoyed carving it out.”
After spending more than three months planning and designing the Lonewolf Ice Bar, the Glacial Art team have hand carved over 20 tonnes of ice into a dazzling display which people can touch, sit on and interact with.
The masters behind the idea, Danieli Holdings, brought Newcastle’s first container park to the city which has been a roaring success since its introduction in August 2018. With an interchangeable plaza area, the social hub has been home to an Enchanted Summer Gin Garden, Hadrian’s Tipi and now the Lonewolf Ice Bar.
Neill Winch, Director of Danieli Holdings said; “After the success of Hadrian’s Tipi over the last three months, we can’t wait to bring something new to Newcastle. Our customers expect us to bring creativity to the region and we hope that this ticks all the boxes and exceeds their expectations. “The Lonewolf Ice Bar is a first for the city and something Newcastle has never experienced before. We look forward to dazzling our guests with spectacular ice sculptures, Newcastle just got a lot cooler.”
