New healthcare insourcing firm to deliver weekend services at NHS sites

A national healthcare specialist has today announced the launch of its new healthcare insourcing business which aims to reduce NHS waiting times.

Totally, which specialises in out-of-hospital care, has announced the launch of its new insourcing venture Totally Healthcare.

The new company will provide a range of procedures and services within NHS hospitals, taking advantage of spare capacity typically during weekends and bank holidays.

With specialities including endoscopy, ophthalmology, ear nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedics and urology, the firm plans to take advantage of the ‘fragmented’ healthcare insourcing market worth between £125m and £150m.

Wendy Lawrence, CEO of Totally, commented: “We are delighted to officially announce the launch of Totally Healthcare. The Group’s directors have identified long waiting lists as a fundamental issue facing the UK and Ireland’s healthcare sector and we believe that Totally Healthcare is well placed to address this issue.

“With nearly 4.5m NHS patients currently on waiting lists in England alone and continuing increasing demand for NHS services, waiting times and waiting lists are not likely to decline without considerable effort. We see a significant opportunity to benefit patients and hospitals alike, across the UK and Ireland.”

“We plan to use Totally’s current position as a leading healthcare provider across England and use our existing strong relationships with NHS commissioners and our central corporate teams to aid Totally Healthcare’s growth.”
