adi Group engineers success with landmark Coca-Cola contract
A leading engineering firm is celebrating success after completing its latest high-profile project with the Coca-Cola empire.
And the contract builds on a number of significant project wins in both the food and beverage and automotive sectors.
The large-scale strip-out job saw Birmingham-based adi Group undertake work at the soft drinks brand’s Northampton distribution site, the storage facility for goods manufactured across the UK.
In total, racking and associated items were removed from over 1,000 locations on site, which had capacity to store over 24,000 pallets. The contract was executed by the engineering firm’s full-service division, adi Projects.
The deal with Coca-Cola European Partners, the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler – selling more than four billion bottles and cans a year – was a landmark one for adi Projects and the group as a whole.
Latfi Karim, adi Project Manager, said: “Coca-Cola is one of the most instantly recognisable brands in the world, so to help support their daily operations is a huge privilege.
“It is also testament to our ethos here at the adi Projects division, which sees us deliver end-to-end projects from under one roof, which is seen by brands like Coca-Cola as a considerable benefit.”
The adi Projects division epitomises the one-stop-shop mentality of the adi Group, which has over 30 engineering specialisms and services industries, such as automotive, aerospace and defence, food and beverage and manufacturing amongst others.
The multi-faceted approach was integral to the Coca-Cola contract, with the Projects division managing CDM, the strip-out works, remediation and final site clean-up and re-painting.
Discussing the firm’s multi-disciplined approach, adi Group Strategic Account Director James Sopwith said: “The very foundations of the adi Group were based on becoming a ‘one-stop-shop’ for engineering services, so it is great to see this vision continuing to be brought to life today by contracts with iconic brands like Coca-Cola.

“That, in part, is due to our ability to self-deliver the vast bulk of our works, utilising our own employed engineers and trades, negating the inefficiencies of multiple contractors operating on a single project.”
The Coca-Cola project was completed over a period of four months by adi, and received high praise from Gary Hills, Senior Manager for Property and Facilities GB at Coca-Cola. “The project by adi was run extremely well from day one,” he said.
“Completing this kind of large-scale work is never easy, however adi had a great approach to the management of site health and safety, as well contractor management, with good communication throughout.
“On behalf of Coca-Cola, I’d like to thank adi for all their help on this successful project.”
