Wasps forge new Warwickshire partnership
A new next-generation co-working space in Leamington is buzzing after launching an innovative partnership with one of the world’s best-known rugby clubs.
1 Mill Street, a vibrant collaborative workspace aimed at freelancers, start-ups, fast-growing businesses and local good causes, will be working with Wasps when the facility opens its doors in November.
The partnership will see 1 Mill Street regularly hosting Wasps players for recordings of the club’s popular ‘Any Sting Goes’ podcast alongside providing meeting space for the club’s staff and player development in the co-working area.
Wasps and the team at 1 Mill Street will also be creating a series of unique networking events and workshops to engage local businesses and partners.
Adam Benson, Chief Commercial Officer at Wasps, said: “The partnership with 1 Mill Street is an important part of our strategy to create new connections with the local business community, and provides access to some state-of-the-art facilities so we can continue to develop the quality of our digital content.”
The complex is based in a landmark Victorian building on the corner of Mill Street and Leam Terrace, and after undergoing a major transformation, now features flexible offices, dedicated desks and hot-desking, a video and sound studio, The Muse Coffeehouse, meeting areas and a world-class events space.
Wasps’ arrival at 1 Mill Street is hot on the heels of it signing up commercial tenants including marketing firm Gibsonhaus, creative business engagement agency Purple Monster and experts at smart technology in the modern workspace coodart.
Nigel Shanahan, Founder of 1 Mill Street, commented: “Working with a prestigious sporting name such as Wasps has only heightened our excitement further as we count down to opening.
“We have a vision for 1 Mill Street to be at the heart of Leamington’s business community, providing a platform for professionals to network and support each other - which is needed now more than ever.
“With Wasps on board, we already have a healthy mix of sport, marketing and creative engagement businesses signed up to the facility, providing solid foundations for us to broaden our reach across the community over the coming months.”
