Yorkshire law firm to increase workforce by 66 per cent as recruitment drive launches

A Yorkshire law firm has announced that it is set to create 20 jobs before the end of next year as it launches a recruitment drive.

Holden Smith, based in Huddersfield, has grown its team from three to 30 in less than two years, and is planning to increase the team by another 66 per cent by the end of 2021.

The company recently opened two new offices in Elland and Leeds Crossgates to support business growth, adding to its headquarters in Huddersfield.

It said that it is aiming to open more offices, doubling the amount of branches it operates within the next five years.

David Bancroft, co-founder, commented: “Our approach of combining the latest legal technology with outstanding client interactions to deliver exceptional levels of service has proved highly successful and we are now actively recruiting for fee earners and assistants across our offices in Huddersfield, Leeds and Elland to help shape the future of the firm.

“We are looking to open further offices in places like Sheffield and Barnsley and we might move into North Yorkshire by acquisition.

“In five years’ time, we aim to be operating in every area of law and have six or seven different branches with a turnover touching £5m.”

James Smith, also co-founder, added: “We launched the firm with residential property and conveyancing services, but demand meant we grew quickly and organically and launched wills and probate, family law and litigation services, and we’ve recently introduced a private client division.

“We’re on course to hit £2m turnover by the end of our second year.”
