PHMG donates more than 170,000 meals to charities across the world
Manchester-based audio branding specialist PHMG launched a festive fundraising appeal at the end of 2020 in a bid to give something back over the holiday season.
Inspired by Marcus Rashford’s free school meal campaigning, the PHMG Foundation first pledged to help end hunger in communities across the globe by donating more than 170,000 meals to charities FareShare, Action for Children, the Greater Chicago Food Depository and SOS Children’s Villages Illinois.
Staff across the UK, North America and Australia adapted their go-to fundraising activities to work towards this target in the safest possible way – and PHMG promised to triple every pound and dollar raised to make a real difference during the holidays.
The Santa Dash has been a highlight of the company’s fundraising calendar over the years, inviting staff across the globe to get together and run 5k in Santa suits, and though 2020 came with a number of challenges, PHMG managed to host the event virtually and keep everyone connected via social media.
To continue spreading joy over the festive season, PHMG also ran their annual Toy Drive in December. Employees both in the office and working from home donated toys and gifts to Camp Simcha in Manchester – a charity dedicated to sending gifts to children in local hospitals – and SOS Children’s Villages Illinois in Chicago to help make Christmas extra special for foster families.
Global CSMO Mark Williamson said: “The generosity of PHMG staff, family and friends never ceases to amaze me – and this year more than ever, they’ve gone above and beyond to support those who need it most. It’s incredible to see what can be achieved when we all work together.”
The campaign resulted in a final donation of 174,853 meals, which surpassed the original target and helped feed even more people in need.
PHMG is a world-leading provider of technology-fuelled audio branding productions, working with more than 36,000 clients in 54 countries worldwide – including Coca-Cola, Audi and Adidas.
Camp Simcha has been bringing hope, joy and support to seriously ill children and families across the UK for over 25 years.
FareShare is making a huge contribution to fighting hunger and food waste in the UK – saving good, nutritious food and redistributing it to frontline charities.
Action for Children helped over 368,000 young people last year alone through practical and emotional support – including providing hot meals and safe spaces over Christmas.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository is committed to ending hunger and its root causes, giving families the chance to focus on education, growth and community.
