Former Dollar Shave Club Marketing Director the Latest to Join The Shirt Society
Manchester-based menswear business, The Shirt Society, has announced its latest high profile hiring. Christian Demers, former International Marketing Director at Dollar Shave Club, has joined the business, taking the role of Chief Marketing Officer.
The hire coincides with The Shirt Society successfully raising a second round of investment funding, with the support of a former North West Entrepreneur of the Year in Scott Fletcher MBE.
The onboarding of Demers means that The Shirt Society has now grown to a team of ten, as they continue to enjoy exponential growth despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Christian Demers brings with him an impressive CV including a Head of Marketing role at Moo.com, where he oversaw UK and International Market Growth , as well as senior positions at Zipcar and Dollar Shave Club.
Commenting on his appointment, Demers said: “When I heard about the concept behind The Shirt Society, I knew I had to get involved. It’s a great idea that really addresses convenience issues in the current market, without compromising on the quality of the product.”
“I am looking forward to heading up the marketing team as we look to build on The Shirt Society’s success into 2021. We will be significantly expanding our marketing efforts as we look to grow further across the UK.”
His appointment is the second C-level hiring in recent months for The Shirt Society, who onboarded former COO at Thomas Pink, Steve Price, in November.
“That The Shirt Society continues to attract the top talent from across the retail sector can only be a great thing,” said founder Matt Bird.
“We’re passionate about having the best people in every area of the business to help us deliver fantastic quality shirts to as many members as possible. Christian’s credentials speak for themselves and I am thrilled to have him joining the marketing team.”
The Shirt Society bucked the trend of many retail businesses last year, and reported a member growth of over 200% since its full launch in October.
