Feel Good Exercise Classes Are Good For Physical and Mental Wellbeing

Feel good exercise classes designed for all abilities are a fun activity to maintain and improve physical mobility, alertness and social skills at Edendale Lodge Care Home. The armchair-based exercise classes are specifically designed for older people and are part of an innovative online wellbeing programme called ‘Oomph’ used by the care home.

The specially designed exercises are specifically for the elderly and enable every individual of all abilities to take part in exercise based activities to stimulate the mind, or body, to help support muscle tone and mobility. Theresa Toll, Manager at Edendale Lodge Care Home says: “Exercising in an armchair is perfect for the people we support, it ensures they can take part in the fun whilst improving their physical and mental wellbeing. We always have a good giggle whist taking part, it really is good fun but physically beneficial for everyone too.”

Belmont Healthcare offers multiple forms of long or short, respite and day care, or at home care for those in need of support. Specialising in enhanced care and support of older people, care is also offered for those living with Dementia and other life changing conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Our homes are perfectly situated in delightful settings around the UK and provide a very homely atmosphere whilst being safe and secure making the people we care for feel right at home.
