New funding unlocks new brand at Sheffield’s AME Group

Sheffield based business, AME Group, has secured a £750,000 investment from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance. The funds will be used to support with growth plans and to launch new specialised brands at the company.

The first new brand is AME-3D: the 3D Printing & Low Volume Production Powerhouse of the North.

AME-3D is known as a powerhouse as it combines 3D printing and additive technologies with a highly experienced team that enables AME-3D to deliver an exceptional quality output. The technical and post-processing skills the AME-3D team have acquired over years of dedication result in a highly accomplished craft. This powerhouse combination opens possibilities for businesses of all sizes across the UK by enabling them to unlock the full potential of 3D printing and Low Volume Production.

To help spread the word, a new website that highlights both 3D printing and Low Volume Production is now fully operational teamed with new social media channels. It offers existing and new customers an easier way to create, thanks to production and engineering-inspired pages that cover:

  • How engineers and designers can implement the Form, Fit & Function framework (F3), one of the core principles of engineering, using AME-3D’s service offering.

  • How businesses can quickly and professionally produce small batch runs of their products using Low Volume Production.

  • Engineering prototypes which enable product designers to test mechanical properties efficiently for rapid prototyping projects.

  • Downloadable technology and material guides to support website visitors to find the right choice for their project.

A new solution

In addition, AME-3D is starting a direct manufacturing with dropshipping service. Thanks to the team’s experience and post-processing skills, products can be built ready for market and even sent straight to the customer via dropshipping. This saves on warehouse costs and enables UK manufacturers of all sizes to implement “built to order” processes.

Founder of AME Group, the parent company of AME-3D, Ian Jones, says: “New technologies such as 3D printing have opened up new possibilities in product development and testing. As a result, the rapid prototyping market is expanding year on year.

With a new brand fully dedicated to unlocking the potential that 3D printing and Low Volume Production offers, our team can support UK businesses with longer-term growth and with their post-Covid bounce-back plans.“

AME-3D is the first brand made possible by the recent funding. AME Group plans to launch more brands later in the year as well as growing its existing offering by investing in new equipment.
