Leeds shopping centre welcomes specialist ‘taste of the orient’ operators
A Leeds shopping centre has announced that it is introducing two new Asian specialist venues to its site.
The Merrion Centre in Leeds Arena Quarter has welcomed two new oriental specialist venues – a Korean/Japanese fusion restaurant and a hair salon, giving customers even more choice.
Following the recent opening of their authentic noodle bar, owners Hang Sing Hong (known as Leeds’ largest and long-established oriental food retailer), have opened their latest restaurant, OBA Kitchen & Bar on Wade Lane.
The contemporary looking OBA Kitchen & Bar serves a fusion of Korean and Japanese dishes in more discerning surroundings.
Offering an range of hot and cold vegan dishes, OBA is set to further expand on the existing, extensive choice of Oriental dining experiences across Leeds Arena Quarter.
The Merrion Centre has also welcomed ‘Hair by Gordon’ who specialise in cutting, colouring and styling of both male and female Asian (Chinese) hair types at their new look salon on the upper balcony level.
Owner Gordon Sung, who graduated from Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon, has more than 20 years experience and has travelled around Asia presenting seminars for L’ Oreal, Wella, Schwarzkopf and TIGI.
Charles Newman, associate director at Town Centre Securities (TCS), owners of the Merrion Centre said: “It’s fantastic to welcome this latest duo of businesses to the Merrion Centre and we’re confident their specialist offerings will prove popular with new and existing visitors including the increasing international student population within close proximity.
“The new OBA restaurant further complements our existing food and drink offering, specifically bringing a new wave of vegan dishes to further support our plans in creating a unique foodie destination.”
