National law firm offers free employment services in post-pandemic support
A national law firm, with 13 regional offices, is offering free reviews of employment contracts for businesses across the East and West Midlands.
Richard Nelson LLP, headquartered in the Midlands, is providing legal advice for businesses who may be at risk of out-of-date employment contracts, an error that could allow employees to claim for up to four weeks’ pay in the Employment Tribunal.
New legal requirements for employment contracts mean they now require more detail than previous versions, with many firms unaware of the changes due to the impact of the pandemic.
The changes include requirements to add information about any employee benefits, paid leave and training offered, as well as restrictions on when you can refer to outside documents such as holiday policies.
George Miller, employment lawyer at Richard Nelson LLP said: “We are delighted to offer businesses across the East and West Midlands the opportunity for a free of charge employment contract review.
“We as a firm understand the pandemic has been a challenging period for businesses and that the new legal requirements have slipped under the radar of some business owners.
“Here, we have the opportunity to step in and mitigate against businesses facing further disruption with potential Employment Tribunals and claims of up to four weeks’ pay.
“We also have the opportunity to discuss further support with businesses, whether that is day-to-day HR advice, training on topics like equal opportunities, or even representation at Employment Tribunal proceedings.”
The offer for free employment contract reviews will be running during April and May 2022.
