County Durham broker celebrates 10 years and £2m funding for South Tyneside heating specialist

Chester-le-Street based Anglo Scottish Asset Finance is celebrating ten years as broker to rapidly expanding heating and ventilation specialist HLA Services including securing £2m in funding.

Anglo Scottish has played a “pivotal role” in the success of the business, which has seen turnover grow to £12.5m, brokering deals to finance its growth. This has included investment in people, the purchase of 100 vans and cars, including six electric vehicles, equipment and technology.

HLA, which has its headquarters in Boldon, South Tyneside, has grown rapidly and is a partner to a range of private and public sector customers, including four of the North East’s universities: Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Durham.

Employing more than 100 people, HLA has satellite offices in Cumbria and North Yorkshire and has recently established a new office in Teesside to meet growing demand for its services.

The company has also recently secured a £500k contract to refurbish Great North House, part of Newcastle University, and works extensively across a wide-range of sectors including construction, manufacturing, retail, education and hospitality.

Anglo Scottish, which last year merged with Birmingham based Capex Asset Finance, uniting both companies under the Anglo Scottish banner, is an independent finance broker.

It provides a range of financial services across the UK including asset finance, business loans, vendor and dealer finance, as well as personal vehicle solutions and vehicle sourcing.

Neil Henry, director at HLA Services, said: “Expansion is the aim for every business but, depending on the industry in which they operate, there are a number of variables and it often comes with challenges that require action and, at times, outside resource which, in the case of HLA, was finance lending.

“Anglo Scottish has been our broker of choice for ten years, which in itself is testament to the exemplary service it tailors to its clients’ needs. Our relationship with the business is the reason we have been able to expand exponentially, in terms of the size, the number of contracts we can deliver and our geographical reach.”
